We are continuing our series of the teaching of the Holy spirit but this time we are in part 5!!! In this segment, we shall be discussing about Holy Ghost baptism; it is one of the most confusing topics about the Holy Ghost… I am going to try and break it to the simplest form and the Lord will help us in Jesus name!!!!
IS THE HOLY GHOST BAPTISM FOR ALL??
Acts2:1-4
The lord spoke through his servant Joel in Joel2:28-29;”And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams and your young men shall see visions; and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my Spirit”.
Until he prophecy of prophet Joel quoted above, the Holy Spirit was known to have restricted his manifestations tot he prophets and to the individuals chosen by God for a particular service. Such men were Moses, Samson, David etc., and as soon as they completed their assignments, the Holy Spirit invariably left them. However, with the prophecy of Joel, it became clear that this sporadic manifestation was merely a pointer to a greater and indiscriminating outpouring that was to come.
To underscore this prophecy, our Lord Jesus Christ also promised his disciples that after He had returned to the Father, He would send the Holy Spirit to them to endue them with the power to carry on the work of the gospel. Both the prophecy of Joel and the promise of our Lord Jesus Christ, were fulfilled in one incident on the day of the Pentecost. This was not just a coincidence but an evidence that the both of them were speaking about the ministry of the Holy Ghost during the church age, which started from the day of Pentecost, and will continue until the glorious return if our Lord Jesus Christ.
THE CONTENT OF THE PROPHECY/PROMISE
1)The fulfillment will be an outpouring- Joel2:28
2)Upon ALL flesh- Joel2:28-29, Acts2:38
3)Recipients shall prophesy, dream and see visions- Joel2:28
4)There will be signs and wonders- Acts2:19

4)False motive-Acts8:18-21
CONDITIONS FOR RECEIVING THE HOLY GHOST BAPTISM
1) Repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Saviour of mankind- Acts2:38, John3:3-7, 1Cor12:13, Eph4:4-5
2) Thirst for the Holy Spirit- Isaiah44:3, John7:38
3) Belief in the Lord Jesus Christ-John7:38
4) Desire for the Holy Spirit- Luke11:13
5) Faith- Acts10:44, Gal3:14
6) Absolute surrender in obedience- Acts5:32
EVIDENCE OF THE HOLY GHOST BAPTISM
1) Boldness- Acts4:31, 2Tim1:17
2) Power to witness- Acts1:8
3) Speaking in tongues- Acts1:8
4) Joy- Rom14:17, Psa51:12, 16:11
5) Illumination of the mind- 1Cor2:12
We have seen that the Holy Ghost Baptism is for all, that is, all who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Master. However, the fact that this privilege is for all does not mean that all will receive it and we have seen the reasons too. The Holy Spirit Baptism is necessary for all Christians who desire to grow in Christ and bear fruit because it is the power for an effective service.
Therefore, every born again Christian should not only desire the baptism of the Holy Spirit, but must also thirst and pray for the experience.
Finally, I pray for everyone under the sound of my voice or writing, that every power operating in your life contrary to the power of the Holy Spirit be paralyzed and I decree and declare that they depart from you in the NAME OF JESUS!!!!! I declare that the Holy Ghost fill you afresh with his fire and anointing in Jesus name!!!! You are blessed!!! It is done in Jesus name!!!!!
Beloved, I believe I have been able to impart into you another session of teaching that has had so much impact on my life and has made me 2 excel bountifully beyond measures.
